Course Description
The American Heart Association’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate breaths and ventilations, and provide early use of an AED. The course reflects science and education from the American Heart Association and uses high-tech manikins and feedback devices to help participants hone these life saving skills.
What does this course teach?
- High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
- BLS concepts from the Chain of Survival
- Delivering effective breaths or ventilations
- Importance of early use of and how to use an AED
- Performance as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR
- Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults, children, and infants
Course Materials
AHA BLS Provider Textbooks to use during class are provided. If you would like to review the textbook prior to class, please contact the Education Services Office at [email protected] or 712-794-5243 for a loaner textbook.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
A fee of $30 will be retained for cancellations received 5 days prior to course date. No refund for cancellations received less than 5 days prior to the course date, though registration is transferrable to another person or class session.
St. Anthony reserves the right to cancel the program due to insufficient enrollment.
If this occurs, participant’s entire registration fee will be refunded.
