Kelly Lee, R.N., A.D.N. was presented with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses at a reception with her family and co-workers last week.

The award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s program to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform daily.

A portion of the nomination submission read: “Kelly Lee is a true patient advocate and champion by ensuring patients receive the care and treatments they deserve. One night, Kelly Lee came on shift and continued advocating for a patient who left and needed home oxygen. Kelly Lee made it her priority to check in on the patient and keep them updated on the process of arranging home oxygen. She was a diligent advocate for the patient making repeated phone calls to an ancillary healthcare agency to ensure the patient received their home oxygen knowing this patient had a limited supply that was sent from the hospital. The patient called the next day and said they’d gotten the oxygen. All because of Kelly Lee’s perseverance and dedication.”

Kelly Lee has been with St. Anthony since 1995 and has always worked on the med, surg, peds floor.
