Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses

Say thank you to your nurse at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa.

The Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the auto-immune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family. When he died, they felt compelled to say “thank you” to nurses in a very public way.

To learn more, visit DAISYFoundation.org.

The Daisy Award program was introduced to St. Anthony in Spring 2021 to thank our nurses for their dedicated work. Nominations for an extraordinary nurse can be submitted anytime by co-workers and the public. Daisy Award winners are honored at a reception and given a certificate, Daisy Award pin, daisy bouquet, and a hand carved stone statue sculpture entitled “A Healer’s Touch”.
