St. Anthony Regional Hospital utilizes da Vinci Xi robotic surgery for patients. Robotic-aided surgeries are complemented by West Central Iowa’s most advanced suite of operating rooms, and da Vinci-trained surgeons in multiple specialties, allowing St. Anthony to offer the most experienced program in the region.
The da Vinci Xi system equips surgeons with tools that include miniaturized instruments mounted on robotic arms that allow the surgeon maximum range of motion and precision, and a magnified, high-definition 3-D camera that guides the surgeon during the procedure. The surgeon sits at a console located in the operating room to control the instruments and camera. Every movement the surgeon makes with the master controls is replicated precisely by the robot. Our specially trained OR staff is at your bedside for your entire procedure.
St. Anthony surgeons have been specially trained to use the upgraded da Vinci Xi system for minimally invasive Urology, Gynecology, General, and Renal procedures that were traditionally performed with an open or laparoscopic approach.
The system not only expands the surgeon’s capabilities to perform with precision, but also offers patients significant benefits over open surgery.
Not all procedures can be done robotically, and not all patients are candidates for procedures that can be performed robotically. Ask your doctor to review all of your treatment options to be sure robotic surgery is appropriate for you.
