Dr. Westberg began his career in internal medicine. After two years of practice, he returned to the University of Iowa to focus on medical oncology and hematology. He was the fourth partner to join Hematology and Oncology Associates, now Medical Oncology and Hematology Associates, in 1983. Today, he serves St. Anthony, Pella Regional Health Center and John Stoddard Cancer Center.
